A suggestion for the “Troy” Facebook page’s next update.

Happy Father’s Day!

Achilles was destined to be greater than his father. Tell us the ways you’re greater than your father in the comments below!

‘Cause seriously, if the Troy Facebook page continues with these daily updates, it’s going to run out of things to post about. I’m just trying to help.

In which the “Troy” Facebook page brings me much joy.

So Wolfgang Petersen’s 2004 film Troy has its own Facebook page, a fact that I have known for a while but mention now because it has just been updated an unprecedented three!!!! times in as many days. I really want to know who has the job of updating the Facebook pages for decade-old movies, and how I might go about procuring said job for myself. But anyway. Every time this page updates, it makes my day (and probably the days of the over four million!!!! people who have liked the page) just a little bit brighter. Undoubtedly my favourite update so far is the one today brought us:

“This war will never be forgotten. Nor will the heroes who fight in it.” – Odysseus

Who are your heroes? Tag them in the comments below.

I love the way that this status jumps directly from Odysseus talking about the heroes of the Iliad to asking us what heroes we have as Facebook friends. As far as I know, I don’t have any Facebook friends who were raised by centaurs or who have spoken with the gods or who have sailed their ship to a faraway city for the sole purpose of killing a bunch of dudes and ensuring their own eternal fame. I mean, I don’t even know any princes!! THANKS FOR RUBBING IT IN, TROY FACEBOOK PAGE

Aaaand via browsing the over one thousand!!!! comments this status has so far received, I have just discovered that there is a You Sack of Wine Facebook group that is busy posting gems such as this:

invite your friends to this group and tonight we will have supper in the gardens of troy

hahahahahahahahahaha oh my god. Some days I just love the Internet.
